Sella is a farming village located just 15 minutes from Relleu. It is a traditional example of a Spanish village with steep and narrow streets and an old castle.
Formerly Sella was a very prosperous village within the area almost entirely inhabited by Moors, but now, with the growth of the tourist sector so close in locality, many of the inhabitants have moved away from farming and work within the service sector. However, it is situated on the slopes of the Sierra Aitana giving it a very pretty location and making it a climber's paradise. There are literally hundreds of first class routes, and some say that Cartujal, one of the crags, is amongst the top five climbs in the world. Sella is also popular amongst walkers, mountain bikers and hand-gliders with spectacular scenery and where these sports can be practices all year round.
